If you’re just starting out your journey as a knitwear designer, you’re most likely feeling overwhelmed by ALL THE NEW THINGS you have to learn if you want to uplevel your hobby into a brand. Additionally, you may not have the finances to invest into the best branding and marketing programs and coaching around, and the free resources online aren’t just entirely cutting it as they don’t get into the “how to’s.” And on top of all that, you don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to learning new strategies, tactics, and technologies.
This is where Skillshare can come in and help you. For a very affordable $15 a month, you can get access to their library of over 20,000 classes ranging from how to use your mobile camera to take stunning images for Instagram, to how to tell compelling brand stories, to how to set up your first landing page, taught by experts in the field, in less than an hour or two.
As part of Skillshare’s Ambassador program, I’ve been given an excellent opportunity to present to you to try out Skillshare’s Premium program FREE for two months. However, I want you to make the most of your trial: with over 20,000 classes to choose from, this is both a blessing and a curse, and you’ll probably feel overwhelmed at where to start.
So I’ve put together my recommended classes that I suggest you start with to get the most out of your trial. I’ve created two lists: for those in their first year of knitwear design, and for those in their second year. I did this because the goals depending on your year will vary: those in their first year of knitwear design will be focusing on getting comfortable with the knitwear design process and publishing on a consistent basis, and those in their second year will be focusing on building a brand and brand awareness.
Of course, if you find a class that interests you that’s on the other’s list, do feel free to check it out!
