The Tiu Top is my very first design to be published in a knitting magazine (and thankfully not my last, I have two more confirmed to come out later this year)! This was a challenging design for me: my first time grading a garment on my own, working with linen yarn and my first top design. However, I couldn't be more proud of it!
The top is knit up in Quince & Co's. lovely linen "Sparrow" line. Fun fact: Tiu is Māori for Sparrow. I loved working with this yarn so much I wanted to pay tribute to it in this design. It is worked bottom up, in the round, with decreases to give it an A-line shape. The majority of the top is worked in stockinette, with a nupp-lace panel running down the center. There is neckline shaping for a small scoop neck in the front and back with drop sleeves. Garter stitch at the edges polish up the design. This makes for a lovely spring/summer knit!
You can find this pattern in the Chicago Knits Magazine Spring/Summer Issue!
