This week I received quite a few yarn packages from various parts of the world, all contain delicious skeins of yarn for upcoming projects. Today, I want to present to you Berroco Maya. This is a squishy yarn made up of 85% Pima Cotton and 15% Alpaca, making it a good match for a top this summer and fall. I am very much enamored with drop-sleeve tops with a good amount of positive ease, couples with lace and cable panels, so be on the look out for that upcoming design!
This is my first time working with Berroco yarns as well as working with cotton. I'm interested to see how it compares to it's plant based sibling linen and how the combination of plant and animal fibers knits up on the needles and how it blocks out.
Each skein has 137 yards of worsted weight yarn so this should knit up fairly quickly, probably even more so than my lace cardigan that I made a few weeks ago (and that is a blog post for another time!).
Stay tuned in the upcoming week for more posts about my updated yarn stash!
